A Very Important Note on Fabric Selection (The "Grunge" Mandate): Look deep into that glowing, amber eye. If you look at the pattern guide, you will see a list of suggested fabric colors. Please ignore them. Those suggestions are based on a computer calculating the average hex codes of the image, and a computer does not possess the chaotic, brilliant, creative mind of a quilter.

If you do, your majestic steed will turn into an unrecognizable, geometric black hole on your wall. You need texture. You need batiks, grunge, tone-on-tone charcoals, and fabrics that look like a stormy midnight. Raid your stash for the moodiest, most dramatic darks you own to give this creature life, and contrast them with piercing, marbled golds and tans. You are the artist here; the hex codes are just suggestions made by a soulless algorithm.

Step 1: Print, Prep, and Saddle Up

• Print all FPP patterns at 100% scale. Use lightweight newsprint paper so you don't accidentally rip your stitches out when tearing it away later.

• Gather your glorious pile of moody textured fabrics, a fresh rotary blade, and prepare your workspace.

Step 2: Taming the Stallion

• Cut your pieces according to the templates. Label everything. If you mix up the pupil with a random patch of mane, your majestic horse is going to look deeply confused.

• Sew along the lines. Trust the lines. Breathe through the tiny, sliver-thin points.

Step 3: Assembling the Shadows
