Are you tired of sewing boring, geographically accurate quilts? Do you want to piece together a cozy conversation starter that confuses out-of-towners and delights locals? Look no further than the digital pattern for this magnificent, absolutely unhinged piece of Oklahoma folklore!
This glorious Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) pattern lets you capture the raw, completely fabricated danger of Eastern Oklahoma's most notorious (and only) aquatic apex predator right from your sewing machine.
The Harrowing (and 100% Satirical) Backstory-
For those not in the know: Muskogee, Oklahoma is securely landlocked. We are nowhere near an ocean. However, a wildly successful satirical social media post once warned citizens of bloodthirsty sharks lurking in the serene, azalea-lined waters of Honor Heights pond.
Instead of panic, this sparked a cultural revolution and a playful, ongoing community joke that "every week is shark week" at the park. The sharks in the ponds at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee, Oklahoma, are affectionately known by the names Sharqueesha, Jermaine Sharkdaine, and Alex Reynolds II.
These internet-famous "residents" gained local notoriety as part of this joke, rather than actual aquatic predators living in the botanical gardens' lakes! The mythical pond shark officially became a beloved local legend, birthing the "See Muskogee" t-shirts and now, this quilt. Merle Haggard may not have sung about the sharks in Muskogee, but that just means he didn't look close enough at the duck pond!
The "Bite-Sized" Pattern Details
Product Type: Instant Digital Download (PDF Pattern). No physical item will be shipped!

What's Included:
Full-sized printable FPP templates.
Step-by-step block assembly diagrams.
Fabric requirement chart and coloring page to plan your own landlocked masterpiece.
Perfect Uses for Your Finished Quilt
Using it as a picnic blanket at Honor Heights Park (keep your toes away from the water's edge).
Gifting to that one friend who refuses to swim in lakes because "you never know."
Confusing your geography teacher.
Hanging it as a tapestry to boldly declare your civic pride in Muskogee's thriving (and entirely imaginary) marine biology sector.
Download the pattern, fire up your iron, and grab this piece of local internet-lore-turned-textile-art before it swims away! Plus, a portion of the proceeds from this quilt pattern will be donated to local charities.
